Hi,
Welcome to the ehealthforum and I am glad to help you out.

Any chest pain is cardiac in origin unless proved otherwise. So for such symptoms of chest pain you need to get an EKG done.

As you have mentioned about the history of clots in the leg in the past, the possibility of a clot going into the lungs is also there from the calf muscles which in medical terms is called pulmonary thromboembolism.Smoking increases the risk of clot formation.

Once cardiac status is cleared we can concentrate on other possibilities.

It can be due to hypertension, Gastroesophageal reflux disease, disorders involving the lung like Pneumonia, thoracic outlet syndrome, pancreatitis, gall bladder disease and muscle pain.

Please take an appointment from a physician and get yourself thoroughly examined so that a confirmatory diagnosis can be made.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care.
