Hello, my Daughter was born early and has always suffered with severe constipation. After various medication and 3 manual evacuations, her consultant has now advised that the best option is the MACE procedure. My daughter is 5 years old
Is there anyone out there that has had the procedure or that can give me any info on it?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

MACE PROCDURE
My daughter is 18 yo. She has scoliosis which has caused many other internal problems. She has had over 40 surgeries for different reason. She has just got a clearence for a kidney transplant. My son 25yo is her donor. While speaking with her urologist he mentioned the mace surgery. My daughter has to catherize every 4 hours and wears a diaper because she was born w/o a rectum. It was reconstructed but the muscles never worked. So she has no control over her bodily functions.
I looked it up and would love for her to do this but she doesn't want to because she has many scars and doesn't want a hole on her side. As a parent if this was available to us years ago when she was very small i would have done it. I feel it gives the children a better life quailty and freedom that they didn't before.
