The joy of internal pain, rectum to large intestines.

I just got out of the ER 4 hours ago for what I thought was inflammation of the colon.. because I had pain radiating from my rectum to my large intestines.. anyways.. I am having such bad pain that I can feel cramping and spasms through my abdomen and feel the need to run to the bathroom just to strain mucus and arch in pain just for that one small little stool..

I found this site wondering if anyone else is feeling this from hemorrhoids. When doctors tell you there is no internal hemorrhoid pain yet you can't move only to go to the bathroom. Sad

Thank you for asking at Ehealth forum!

I read your question and i understand your concern. With no hemorrhoids on examination, this feeling of tenesmus should be considered for irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease or if short history then some parasitic bowel infection may also be considered.

I hope it helps. Stay in touch with your healthcare provider for further guidance as our answers are just for education and counselling purposes and cannot be an alternative to actual visit to a doctor.
