So, I was being my innocent self one day... innocently checking my innocent email.
My mom forwarded an email to me that she had gotten from one of her friends who she used to work with in my town's life centre (where they primarily counsel pregnant teens). Fortunately, my mom thought the email was completely bogus, and just wanted me to read it. It was someone's response to a story in LifeSiteNews (A primarily Christian Pro-Life website).
Here it is:
Dear Editor,
Fr. de Valk observed that Canadians (including Canadian Catholics) have been complacent regarding the advancement of the homosexual agenda.
Why are so many complacent and do not act?
In an interview with La Repubblica in 2004 (http://www.zenit.org/article-11587?l=engl
ish) Cardinal Ratzinger made the following statements:
"It is true that the pill has given rise to an anthropological revolution of great dimensions. It has not been, as thought in the beginning, the 'only' solution for difficult situations. But it has changed the vision of sexuality, the human being and the body itself.
"Sexuality has been separated from fecundity and in this way it has profoundly changed the concept of the human life.
"The sexual act has lost its purpose and finality, which before was clear and specific, so that all forms of sexuality have become equivalent. Above all, from this revolution comes the equalization between homosexuality and heterosexuality. "
The culture we are living in is a contra-conceptive culture where contraception and sterilization are widely practiced. Thus there is an indifference and even hostility towards those who do proclaim the truth about the dignity of the human person and sexuality.
The contra-ceptive mentality and attachment to its practice is contrary to natural law, and attachment to behaviours that are contrary to natural law darken the intellect and weaken the will.
There is then no desire to defend the freedom to speak the truth, because one cannot see the truth, the truth that homosexuality is not equal to heterosexuality. Therefore, we have a culture that will not act against the advancing homosexual behaviour agenda. And the dictatorship of relativism pervades.

Needless to say, I was pretty pissed that someone would send this to my mother, who is totally supportive of both me and what I stand for. We both see eye to eye when it comes to Homosexuality. Being the person I am, I sent an angry email to the person who sent this to my mom. Firstly, because you don't send that kind of stuff who is proud to have a gay son. Additionally, I told her that the only agenda I have (as with many other GLBT individuals) is the agenda to assure that each person is treated with equal respect and dignity irrespective of whether or not SOME think that heterosexuality is superior to homosexuality. We cannot let these "some" people dictate how the rest ought to think and behave.
So what is the 'gay agenda'? Does it exist? Is it grossly misconstrued by those who don't approve of homosexuality as a biological (and, some may say, spiritual) truth?
More importantly, if a 'gay agenda' does exist, do you think it serves a good purpose?
I'm interested in hearing answers, because I thought for so long that the 'gay agenda' was made up by the "Moral Majority" (puke) as a means of propaganda. The more I thought about it, it does exist, but its message is so much more complicated than it's being made out to be.
