Q: thalassemia symptoms ???

hi
I am 18 years old and I was told by doctor that I have thalassemia last year... In these few days, I suffered from backpain, shortness of breath, chest pain, pain on the right side of the waist, and sometimes will cramp on right side from hand to leg... Are all these the effect of thalassemia??? Or it is the symptoms of having other problem or dieases??? Thank you very much for your reply...

It doesn't sound like these are symptoms of Thalassemia, but maybe it could be the disease's effect on the bones? Have you checked with your doctor on these symptoms? I did find a good website with information on the symptoms of Thalassemia. I hope it is helpful to you: Thalassemia

I wouldn't hesitate to ask your doctor about the chest pain and shortness of breath.

i didnt go and check with a doctor...
but i did a lots of research on that... however, i am clueless...
now i am getting better... i didnt suffered much from backpain and others pain.. just somtimes got shortness of breath problem... i will go and check out about bones problem... thank you very much kfkohio Wink

Ya, I did blood test on November 2008. And the report says that I have Thalassemia. There is no other problems in my blood test.
Ya. I did feel tired easily and quite often. Walk staircase also will make me shortness of breath. Is there any problem with that?
