Q: 39th week in pregnancy

I am 39 weeks and my doctor checked me today and said I was about 3 cm dialated, but I am not having contractions, just a little cramping like menstraul cramps, anyways when I got home I noticed a little bit pinkish on the toilet paper. Does this mean I am going to be going into labour very soon.

You might possibly go into labor soon. That pinkish streak on the toilet paper could be the remains of your cervical plug. If you are already 3cm dilated, I would hold off on sex to help prevent any infections, unless your doctor okayed it. You can help stimulate labor by walking frequently, stimulating your nipples, drinking lots of water, if your doctor is okay with that. But, yes, labor will come soon! How soon, is up to your body and the little one. As soon as your cramps (which CAN be contractions, believe it or not)start to come in a regular pattern, frequently lasting about 45 seconds (sometimes longer)and coming regularly about 4-5 minutes apart, it is time to call your doctor. If your water breaks, you will also need to call your doctor. Congrats and good luck!
