Fertility Answer A4739
To tell a woman that her reproductive system is okay she must have gone through many diagnostic procedures: vaginal examination, hormonal analyses, anti-sperm antibodies test, Pap-test, microbiological examinations, ultrasound scan, HSG, hysteroscopy and laparascopy.

To tell a man that his reproductive system is okay he should have normal spermogram which means not only normal spermatozoid count but also normal: sperm volume, liquefaction time, sperm pH, spermatozoid motility, viability, morphology and normal functional tests.

In 10% of sterility cases both the man and woman have normal function of their reproductive organs which means the reason for sterility is unknown (idiopathic). In such cases techniques for assisted reproduction could help.
