I got tested after exposure and the results were negative, yay right? Well I'm kind of doubting my result... not out of "should I have waited longer" because I waited the right amount of time, it's how the test administrator performed the test. He asked if I wanted the finger prick or oral test, I asked for the finger prick. From the OraQuick website testing procedures, it says to collect the sample of blood and mix it with the solution in the vial like it says on the OraQuick website and the OraQuick training video on youtube.

What my test guy did was after he collected the blood, he tapped and smeared the blood on the testing device pad (the pad that you would insert in your mouth if you were doing it orally) and then inserted it into the vial... would the fact that he didn't mix the blood in the solution and did it how he did still make my test valid? I asked him and he said you can do it either way, but I've never seen it done how he did...

I got tested again because I didn't feel comfortable with how the guy did the test. Same test (OraQuick finger prick test). This time the lady pricked my finger, swirled the blood in the buffer/solution, and left the white blood sample collector stick in the buffer/solution in there with the OraQuick 1/2 testing device. I watched the OraQuick video after the fact and they didn't keep the sample collecting stick thing in there for the test... my test results were negative. Can I be confident in this test result even though the sample stick remained in the test vial WITH the testing device or would the fact that the sample stick was in there too mean I need to get tested again?

I got tested again, this time the guy did the oraquick oral swab and I felt like he didn't do a good enough job swabbing my mouth and I should have swabbed my own mouth but he said no. I left there after getting another negative result and went to another place where they did the Clearview Complete HIV 1/2 test (fingerprick) and everything went fine but doubt didn't creep in until they guy was like "Well, we don't have to wait the 15 minutes I can tell you that you will be negative have a good day" and rushed me out of the office after about 10 minutes... I just wish we could have waited 15 to be 100% for certain at least for my head...

Please someone let me know it'd be greatly appreciated I'm begging someone please answer! I just wish they would have done the test with no extra stuff such as smearing the blood on the thing or leaving something in the vial!
