Hi there,

I've posted this under MS simply because I don't know where else to post this. My family doctor as well as my neurologist have ordered several tests to figure out what is going on.
I'll give you a quick precises:

Back in Feb'08 after fighting a terrible bout of flu like symptoms. I noticed tingling sensation on either my left hand or feet. I also had trouble saying the right word. For example if I was asked a question like what color is your car,I would say blue when in fact I know it was red and thought I had said red. I shrugged it off as being tired and the symptoms subsided.

In May, the symptoms resurfaced with the tingling, the speech problems and some balance issues (banging into the door frame misjudging a step). A friend once asked me at point blank, while picking my son up from school, if I was drunk! At that point I went and got myself checked out.

So now I'm waiting to do 2 tests. A MRI and a memory test. I live in Canada so these things have a bit of a wait time. My MRI is scheduled for Aug. 18th and my memory test July 11th. What can I expect at these tests and are they conclusive enough to give me an answer? I have had a battery of blood tests done all of which have come back normal.

Any experiences or tips would be greatly appreciated.

There are no blood tests that can confirm or exclude MS but some blood tests can confirm other diseases that may have similar symptoms like MS.
MRI is much more useful test for confirming/excluding MS but still not 100% sure. MRI should reveal demyelinizating plaques inside the brain. Other, two useful tests are spinal trap and test for evoked potentials.
You can consult some neurologist about this.
