I am a 14 year old boy from Canada. Being from Canada, I obviously love to play hockey Wink. I got in a little bit of an injury while I was playing one day and my athletic cup pinched my right testicle. I didn't notice a little purple lump that I could see and feel through my scrotum until the next day. I didn't know what it was so I decided to wait it out thinking that it was nothing but a bruise from the incident the night before. It has been about 2 and a half months since the injury and the bump is still there. It has not changed in size or texture or anything and nor has my testicle. It hurts a little bit but only when it is touched or bothered in any way. I am beginning to wonder if it was just a coincidence that I noticed this bump after I got injured and if it is cancer. The questions I want answered are, how long would a bruise or pinch or some kind of injury like that last on my testicle, and how do I know if it is cancer (size, shape, texture, colour, other symptoms) I would like to know as soon a possible. Thank you!

Extremely eHealthy
This purple lump can be a heamtocele ,blood collection at the side of testicle (a pooling of blood around the testicle into the layer that surrounds the testicle).
This happens after sport, blunt injury and is usually a benign condition.
However, is good to visit your physician or ask for referral for a urologist.

Best wishes!

benign
benign means not dangerous. if your doctor says the lump is benign the it means its not cancer basically. probably just a cyst or a wot mandms said XD

clear
six years is probably too long for cancer to stay dormant but these days cancer is found in many different forms and the spread can happen at any speed. you may be in the lear but go to your doctor to be safe

TC 14 the odds?
Im 14 years old and on my right testicle i cant really tell if its a lump or just the epydemis . Sometimes when i feel it its like swollen(im a hypochondriac i self exam every day). No male in my family has had cancer at a young age nor testicular cancer at all. should i be worried at all about TC going through puberty and it not being hereditary?
