Q: Testical lumps

Hello, I am 12 years old and going through puberty. I was in the shower when I found 2 lumps on both testicals on each side of them. These lumps arent very big and r soft and only hurt when i push down on them. I am embarrased to ask to go to the doctor and scared there's something wrong. I hope its not cancer and I've heard cancer is hard and small. Please help me determine if something is wrong and if i should go to the doctor right away or if it's nothing ot worry about. And if i should go to the doctor do i just say to my parents i would like to go to the doctor for a checkup and then tell the doctor when i get there the problem instead of telling my parents?

Hi its me again i forgot to add this i have small skin colored pimple like maybe a little smaller on the bottom half shaft of the penis and scrodom. I dont think these would be herpes because once again i am 12 and not sexually active.

gemly, how often do you palpate your testes? Are you familiar with their anatomy and that is a new finding or you think it is something that was there and you probably hadn't noticed before? If what you feel is identical on both testes I'm inclined to think you've stepped on your epididymis, they fit the description well. Search for it on wikipedia and look on the immage if that can be what you found.

If you still it's concerned and think it can be abnormal you can always go to a doctor like you said. Doctors are trained to deal with these issues and there's absoluttely no need to feel embarassed with them. You probably also don't need to feel embarassed with your parents, but if you still do just do as you suggested because doctors keep confidentiality of their patients.
