Okay. Long story short...

I always get tonsillitis. Whenever I'm sick, swollen tonsils with white spots are always there with it. 3-5 times a year.

I got it again about 3 weeks ago. A week passed, it got a little better. Another week, and it came back worse. That lasted a week, and then along came body aches for 2-3 days. Also I had swollen glands and really bad sinus/mucus crap all the time. So I finally went to the doctor.

They did a strep/mono test, both came out negative. They called me back later that day, said the mono test had turned positive after I left. So I went back the next day, took it again, sure enough it came back positive.

But now, 3 days later, I feel almost completely healed. My throat hardly hurts anymore, my tonsils have almostt gone back to normal size, the sinus stuff is clearing up, I don't have a fever, and my glands are still a bit swollen, but also are going back to normal. After 3 days.

So my question is, could I have just had mono for the past month and had very mild symptoms? I don't remember being all that tired, at least not as much as I've read people usually are. My side doesn't hurt where my spleen is, and never did. So is it possible that either the test was wrong, or that I'm just now getting over it and got tested late? I want to get back to doing sports and stuff as well and I figure as long as I feel back to normal It's safe... what's anybody else think?

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like a sinus infection. I would ask them how the mono test "turned positive" after you left, as it was negative while you were there??? Strange. Also how old are you? My understanding is the older you are the worse the fatigue can hit you ... very young people may show hardly no symptoms at all. I would ask the doc about resuming your sports.

Good Luck
Mike
