So sad to say, at a time when I should be
just the happiest of them all, i find out
some very disturbing news!
I have had routine health check ups for
the past few years and tests always come
back normal. I actually just had a pap
done the beginning of last month and
everything came back normal.
Well, i had a short discussion with my bf
and it turns out, hes had genital warts
before. I've had no knowledge of this! He
claims he "doesn't have them any more"
because he doesn't have visible warts. He
doesn't understand that the HPV virus will
always be in his system.
My bf was married (for 7 years) after he
"supposable" contracted this virus and his
ex wife hasn't had any abnormal tests. She
has had 2 beautiful kids with him and
everything came back normal.
How long does it take for the virus to
appear in your system. Meaning - how long
does it take, after contracting the virus,
that the test for HPV comes back +?
I feel like my world is just torn apart
right now. I keep going back to "well, i
just had a routine check up, everything
came back normal so I'm fine" but i know
that is a "virus" that is incurable?
I know I have rubbed a few people off the
wrong way on this site but I would greatly
appreciate if someone can give me some
insight! I just found out this information
a couple hrs ago and now, thats the only
thing on my mind.
Thank you.

the HPV virus that creates visible warts
"usually" isnt contagious unless the
visible warts are present. SO, if he got
the warts treated, chances are very good
that you've got nothing to worry about.
And even if you did get warts, they are
very treatable. As far as your pap coming
back normal, thats awesme. If you did
have anything to worry about, your pap
would show it... HPV in wart form hasnt
been shown to cause cervical cancer, so
you're ok!! good luck with the pregnancy!
