What are the best ways to relieve tension in the whole of the body?

The tension might be of physical origin where the muscles are not completely relaxed. This might be due to bad posture in which case you might want to have regular exercises just to keep your muscles relaxed. If there is a pain in a specific part of your body, it might be related to spine problems where the paravertebral muscles (the muscles along the spine) put additional pressure on the nerves leaving the spinal cord. This pain might be felt as lower back pain or somewhere in the extremities as certain of the nerves spread through the extremities.


If there is no pain, the tension might be caused by psychological issues. Anxiety and stress might easily be detected in the form of tension. Relaxation techniques (yoga, for example) might be beneficial. If you cannot find a way to relax yourself, then it might be caused by other more complex psychological problems which might need an intervention from a psychiatrist or at least a psychotherapist whom you are advised to visit for observation and adequate treatment. Medications might be recommended, but psychological methods and techniques might be able to replace the medications if the psychotherapist thinks that your condition can allow it.
