I'm an uncircumsized 16 year old . I'm worried because up until a year ago, I didn't really know that an uncircumsized male had to wash his foreskin. Not only that, but on most advice articles I've seen, most males are able to fully retract their foreskin from the head of their penis well before my age. If I try and retract my foreskin to fully expose my glans, I can only do it when not erect. When erect, I can barely retract any of the foreskin. And since I was never really told about washing one's own foreskin etc when I was young, when I attempt to retract my foreskin, there is an offensive stench, though, I don't know if this is normal or not. If I try and touch the tip of my glans when I retract a bit of the foreskin, there is quite an amount of discomfort, and due to this, I've never really washed it. I tried once to use hot water, but because of the sensitivity and the discomfort, I stopped almost immediately. And I measure just above 6 inches, if that's appropriate for my query.

My question is, Is something wrong with my foreskin and/or penis? Is there osmething I can do to increase my foreskins mobility? Or will I have to see a professional soon?

Please reply.

Sound like you have phimosis (tight, non-retracting foreskin). I have the same problem and judging from the amount of posts about it in this forum, I reckon it's pretty common. Your case sounds easily treatable. Go visit your doctor and he might prescribe you some steroid cream in order to loosen the skin. It may be a tad embarrassing but it's worth the effort in the long run. Worst case scenario you might need to get a circumcision but this is unlikely considering you can retract when not erect.

Yes, that sounds like classic phimosis. I can't understand why parents who choose not to circumcise their child - which is commendable - then fail to educate their child on how to CARE for their own body!!

It's not your fault. You are in good shape because you can fully retract it when flaccid so that's a definite bonus. MiseEire's advice is the best: go to the doctor and keep them on the topic of curing the phimosis, NOT chopping off your foreskin! There's nothing wrong with it. You've just not been properly caring for it so it's not behaving the way it should - and again, that's not your fault.

Whew.
Wow. Thanks, you guys. I looked around the site after posting, and it did seem like this "phimosis" condition. I'm just glad that I had enough of a sense of curiosity to start looking into it before; else I would've found out it's not normal during sex, which I'm sure, is not the best time to find out lol.

There are several things that you can do. First off, the smell you have is likely from a buildup of smegma. Smegma is more or less a mixture of dead skin cells and a liquid secreted by the inner foreskin (mucosa tissue, same as inside the vagina, mouth, eye lids) This is normal, but just needs to be washed away regularly. Again, its not your fault any of this has happened, its all normal.
You can manually stretch the foreskin over the erect penis. slowly pulling it down, just to before you feel pain and hold it here for some time, and repeat often until the foreskin loosens up. There is a muscle that runs around the tissue to keep it closed, it just needs to be stretched. There is also the steroid option, or there are several devices on the market that will aid in this process. google gentle foreskin stretcher, it looks like it would work, has a very high success rate 99% (506/511)
