Must workers who sit for long periods of time at a computer develop the problems related to posture and repetition you have described.
Try these techniques.
1. Be sure your chair is properly positioned relative to your desk. You may be sitting too high which forces you to have to lean forward.
2. Breaks should be taken during which you STAND UP and move around.
3. During these breaks and often while you are sitting at your desk stretching exercises for your neck, arms, and hands as well as your back, will provide the needed repositioning for these areas.
4. How is your vision? It sounds to me that you are leaning forward to see your monitor. I wear special glasses when I work on the computer. Check with your eye doctor to verify your vision needs.
5. If your posture issues cannot be self corrected, an Occupational Therapist can guide you, especially,since your issues have been present for a period of time.
6. Actually, changing to your left hand is not a good option. You would need
to twist your posture in the opposite direction giving you problems on both sides.
7. I'm sure that as a mother of three you are always busy. At only 35 years of age, it seems likely that a stretching and excercise routine, even if done at home, will go a long way in managing the stress in your life both at work and your every day life.
8. Be kind to yourself.
