Hi,
I got very sick with horrible bronchitis, coughing up lots of round hard gunk and pieces of lung and some blood. I was treated for bronchitis with antibiotics but found in the paper that an elderly immigrant had started a mini-epidemic in the city where I lived. No ppd was ever done on me at that time.

I had tb apparently in my blood stream when I conceived and had my youngest child. Actually, my positive ppd was discovered during a prenatal exam, though my chest was deemed clear. No further investigation or treatment was offered and I was told I was fine and not contagious.

Since, it has spread throughout my body, unbeknownst to me, I was diagnosed instead with autoimmune disease and liver disease. I still have not had treatment.

My son, now 20, has epilepsy, asthma , syncope, orthostatic low blood pressure and seems to share some of the bad symptoms I had early on.

Can tb cause these problems in him, and should he be treated as well? He reacts with hives all over and a very huge positive ppd, but they said its just that he is allergic and they don't think its really positive.

Thanks for any help you can give.
Marji
