Sometimes these things can be fixed. Go to a better tattoo artist and see if they can't salvage the art. Talk to a couple of them. You obviously wanted the tattoo, it just didn't turn out the way you wanted it.

Also, don't tattoos that big take months to complete?

Have you thought about going to a councilor for your depression? You owe it to yourself and to your children to seek help if you are having suicidal thoughts. If you just need to talk to someone, call a national suicide hotline. They are there to listen. Sometimes just having someone to talk to you without judgment is really helpful.

Don't let anyone tell you that your feelings are silly or that you should just "get over it." The tattoo is only what triggered your depression, but you can get better even if you can't remove it. There is hope. You don't have to feel like this.

I wish you all the best.

hey, you get get it covered up, just go round some of the local artists and see what they can come up with, nearly all tattoos (even sleeves) can either be salvages or tidyd up if you get the right person to do it. PLUS. if this guy/woman is really bad at tattooing, you should report him because im sure you don't want someone else to feel the way your are...don't do anything like ending your life because its not worth it just because of a tattoo! in the end, if someone covering it or making it look better doesn't work then you should go to councilling and talk your way to loving your tattoo. yes it's for life but it shouldn't be a burdon, trust me there is someone near you who will deffinetly be able to fix it!! its just about talking to them and explaining the problem with your tattoo.
Good Luck

This might sound extreme, but if you absolutely can't stand the way the tattoo looks, there are some covering makeups that you might be able to use to hide it. They are waterproof and will stay on all day. If the tattoo is really dark, then you might not, but this stuff has been known to cover scars, burns, veins, and it is really good. At least it would make you feel alittle less self-conscious, and it's not that expensive. Check it out on the web by searching for "scar covering concealors" or concealor creams. There is one called Dermablend that is very good.

Try Wrecking Bomb. I'm not sure that's how its spelled maybe Wrecking Balm. But it's a fading cream, and I keep hearing about it. Worth a look.

Hey jamiefirst
I tend to agree with Lydia's advice. This is a really severe reaction to a bad tatoo. It sounds like you may have some other issues to tackle. I'm worried that if you solve your tatoo problem something else will only take it's place. I'd suggest you talk to a health professional about the suicidal feelings you're having and see what they suggest. Feel free to get a second opinion if you're concerned that you won't like what they say but certainly let someone with experience with emotional distress help you sort out why you're feeling like this.

Hi Jamie--Dermablend is a very good coverup..It might be that you will need to just keep the area covered..But, I don't think this is the real issue at hand..There has to be more to this and you need to seek professional help..I always recommend talking with your PCP to make sure there is nothing physical going on before doing the mental thing..With all that my family has been through when there is anything that is prolonged or jumps to really bad I say go to PCP..
