Over the past several years, I get an identifiable taste when I belch slightly followed by a bout of explosive diarrhea with pain, cramping, etc.. I found that an antibiotic will shorten the effect (Cipro) It is always identified by the taste and a little feeling of fullness, and then I know I am in for it. Used to be about 4 or five time a year. I have had it five times since Jan 1, 2008. I have had all the usual tests, flexible sigmoidoscopy, upper and lower GI etc. Doc cannot pinpoint. I have a history of Crohn's including bowel resection surgery about 15 years ago. Crohn's is in remission. No blood in stool. The diarreah will suck wter from rest of muy systems so I have to make an effort to keep hydration up -- pedolite, gatoraid, etc. Any ideas what causes this??
