I am a first time tampon user. I was wondering if you have to change the tampon every time you urinate, (say you go and like 5 minutes later you have to go again)?

No, you don't HAVE to. But I find that the string gets wet which makes me feel wet in that area no matter how many times I wipe. So, I just go ahead and change it at each bathroom visit.

Just make sure to change it at least every 4 to 8 hours (depending on how much it gets saturated with blood). Leaving it in longer raises your risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome, which is rare, but serious.
