My husband has a problem in his petuitary gland that caused him to have really low levels of natural testosterone, so his doc put him on depo testosterone to help. He has been on it for 9 years now and he gets an injection every 2 weeks. We discussed it a few times but i can tell he is not very comfortable talking about it. We also discussed that we are ready to get pregnant and start a family but i havnt been able to get pregnant for 2 yrs now. I dont want to ask him or his doctor because i know hes already uncomfortable discussing it so maybe you can help. Does taking depo-testosterone affect us getting pregnant? IF it does what needs to happen for us to get pregnant? I know that if he gets off the medication he will have alot of "man" problems like lower sex drive, his chest will grow, he wont have body hair, and some other things. Please help!
ok, tell him to go to the doctor and get HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin, this is a sister molecule to lutenizing hormone, which is produced by the pituitary to stimulate the leydig cells in the testes to produce testosterone. The testosterone that he''s taking will make him much less fertile, so switch right away. It will have the same effect.
STOP THE TESTOSTERONE IMMEDIATLY! My husband has been on it for 5years and sprem count is reduced to 0, been TTC for 5+ years to get pregnant, and it is costing us a lot of money to try and get his sprem count back at all.
i cant believe this guy has been on his treatment for 9 yrs and he is still on it while his wife wants to conceive?? honey you aint getting preggo while he's on test, no way no how, tell him to stop thinking of himself, there are divorces over this matter.
i stopped injections 6 mos ago and spent 700 dollors on clomid, nolvadex and hcg, and im still sterile as a rock. tell hubby its gonna be a long haul, but he is gonna have to make some sacrafices, for once in his life for you,, good luck 2u, my heart goes out to you both.
