I am taking Prometrium 100mg Caps. I just started taking the med on 6-15-09. I take 4 caps before i go to bed. I am taking the prmetrium to help me start my period. I was instructed to take the prometrium for 10 days straight and then i should start my cycle. I have not had a period in 8 months. I assumed it was PCOS which was causing me to not have a period.(though my doctor said my labs did not point to PCOS to be the problem) My OB said that after this cycle she said if i dont have another period for 3 months then she will call me in another RX for Prometrium. (she told me not to go longer than 3 months without a period). I got some lab work done and my prolactin was at 6.8, TSH 1.5, Estradiol 70 (not knowing which pase i was in bc i dont have a period). My OB said everything seemed to be mornal except my estrogen was a little low. I have been trying to get pregnant for a month now. I have also been using a ovulation kit just to see what the results would be. It was negative for about the first 8 days and for the past 6 days i have had a positive LH surge. I read that when it is positive for more that 3 days in a row it usually means that your egg is having trouble releasing. So i have no idea if im pregnant or not yet as it is too early to tell. I guess now for the question, since im taking prometrium to start my period. If i start and go through my cycle when can i try to concieve? Should i wait until i have another period to try to regulate?? If i am pregnant now will the progesterone cause any bleeding?? I just really would like some information or if you have dealt with a particular situation and what the best route would be for me. Please help any information will help.
