Q: Taking Plan B, period delayed

Ok here's my situation, me and my husband had sex on July25 after my period(19th-24th) ended, but the condom broke and he ejaculated inside...then we got Plan B two hours after, I took one pill right away and the other pill 12 hours later. I did not experience any severe side effect except for fatigue that night. Then I started to bleed 5 days after taking the pills, the bleeding was just like a normal period flow but no cramps( i normally have cramps during period) and it lasted for 4 days and then clear. I should expect my period on Aug 19, but today is already 24nd and my period still not come. I am just so worried and wonder how long at top can plan B mess up the period? Do i need to check a pregnancy test right away? Please someone help! Thanks!!

At tops? I would say 2 months (some people, up to 3). Every time I've taken Plan B,it takes me about 2-3 cycles to get back on track.

If I were you, I would test just to ease my fears. Sounds to me you have little to worry about, but taking a test would help you not to freak out.

And here's another kicker...the more you stress, the more it delays your period. Isn't life just full of stuff like that? So, try and relax as best you can...and I'm sure your period will come shortly. But, in the time being...just test. Smile

Thank you for your answer! Yes it really freaked me out but just cant help, i know stress can also delay my period so i tried to do sth else to distract me from always thinking about it, im gonna go get a test if it not come tomorrow.
I'm also curious that if bleeding after taking the pills can be a sign of not being pregnant? Since i took plan B right after my last period and ovulation is not suppose to happen within 14 days before the next period, so the chance of my being pregnant is relatively low(i know there still is a chance)when the "accident" happened at that time right?

Scared :(
My boyfriend and I attempted to have sex and we used a condom but I changed my mind because I got nervous. I was so freaked out that I would become pregnant that I took the Plan B pill within the 72 hours. About a week and a half later I received what I considered to be a period and it lasted about four to five days. The length seemed normal to me because that's about how long a regular period lasted for me. It's been about a month since I had that period and I still haven't had my period. I'm extremely worried and I am wondering if I should take a pregnancy test. Help please? Sad

I took plan b betweeb the 72 hours of having sex, I was protected but I worry anyway since I had to stop taking the pill. I got my period about a week or 2 later like normal. My next period came around the right time but it was light which is not normal for me. Ive taken two test and it says negative on both but my next period came and it also is light. Could this be because of the pill O took it the end of March got my period in begining of April (light) the at the begin of june (still light)? should I go take a test? Im getting cramps and everything that comes with my period its just light.

Sam Problem
I am having this very same problem right now! I took the pill and my period came at the normal time, but it is so light. This isn't normal for me either. I had pretty bad cramps though. I see that you posted this over a month ago; how did things work out for you?

It could be very normal for you. Plan B affects people differently.

If pregnancy is still a concern then take a pregnancy test or even a blood test if you don't trust your results of a urine test.

Similar problem... BC and Plan B and late period... PLEASE HELP!
I am having a similar problem.. My boyfriend and I were messing around on a saturday.. pre cum of course and then we started to have unprotected sex but I stoped him so he didnt finish in me. I'm on BC but I missed the day before(friday) and doubled the day of the accident(saturday).. I was so freaked out because 1. I missed a day even though I doubled up the next.. the day of the event. 2. I was suppose to start the sugar pills on sunday and I did.. but I also took plan B just in case within 24 hrs. I started having abdominal cramps on sunday and monday ... Where I'm on BC and it was my week to start.. I usually start on that tuesday... well now its thursday still haven't started although I started getting some light cramps. I read online that I should get my period at the normal time or within a week but if its 7 days late I may be pregnant.. I'm getting a take home preg. test tomorrow hopefully just to calm me down and make the stress a little less...should I start my new pack on sunday when I'm suppose to even though I haven't had a period when I should have? and should I be worried since its late?

I don't know if this will help any1 but I to plan b in January when i first had sex. I was careful he wore a condom and i was on birth control but i took plan b because i was so nervous. That month my period was not normal i had brown spotting on my panties and when i wiped for about a week then i had somewhat of a period where i bleed only when i wiped or sat on the toilet. But since i took plan b my periods have not been that regular.
