Q: Taking Pill back to back

I recently took two packets of the pill to avoid being on for my prom. In the second packet of pill taking I had some light bleeding but this soon went, I then had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. I have now heard that you should take extra contraception such as condoms when running two packets of the pill back to back and I didn't. I have been feeling sick for the last few days now and do not know what to think... any help?

I have never heard that you need to use backup contraception when using the pill to skip a period. Everything I have read says that a pron is protected. What is the name of your birth control pill?
