Q: taking metformin - late with period

I have been on metformin for 3 months now 1000 mg daily. I have had a period every 29 days. this month i was due on the 14. I am now late. I have been sleeper then usual. my breast seem heavy and itchy. i do fill naused but the metformin can also make you feel sick. i did buy a test yesterday and took it, but the test was invailid ( no line in the test window) i have not returned to the store since so I have not purchased another.what are your thoughts?
