i've started BC pills a few years back but i have not been taking them religiously. sometimes i stop taking them because i missed a few pills and i realised that it's no longer effective so i stop and start all over again the next month. sometimes i stop because im no longer sexually active.

the last time i took the pills this year was in january, for two months starting december i think, and then i stopped. and then last month (june) i took them again because i know i'll be meeting my bf again (we're in a LDR) and now in july, he's going back to where he came from so i wont be having sex for any time soon and therefore i dont see a point in taking the BC pills anymore. so i plan to stop.

my question is, by taking the pills on and off this way, will it mess up my hormones and make me infertile?

It won't make you infertile, but it is making your hormones wacky. Do you notice any differences in your moods, skin condition, weight, etc? These are things that can fluctuate becuase of imbalance in hormones.

Do you just stop taking them because it's an inconvienience? It would probably be better to continuously take them so then you don't have to freak out and think they might not be working. And if cost is an issue, go to Planned Parenthood because they have it on the cheap.
