Q: T2-T3 disks herniated

I am 37 yrs. old and fell while working on a commercial fishing vessel in the Bering Sea. Since the fall, I have had excruciating pain in my upper back. Went to a chiropractor and then PT, w/out any relief. Then got an MRI, which showed two herniated disks in my T-spine. Two doctors I saw basically brushed it off and told me I should just live with the pain and it would be there for the remainder of my life. It's been almost two years since I got hurt and I am still in pain, losing sleep, etc. I have not been prescribed anything, never had any steroid shots, nerve blockers, etc. I was told by a surgeon that surgery is not an option for my type of injury. Anyone else have any experience with upper T-spine injuries and any suggestions? Any relief at this point would be better than what I am going through now.

Hi

My MRI showed a bulging disk at C3-4 and T2-3. My complaint was scapular pain that effects my shoulder and bursa. My chiropractor basically diagnosed the problem first. Surgeons are useless you need surgery. My Physiatrist, who finally ordered an MRI has prescribed a course of Prednisone until I see an 'interventionist' (specially trained aneasthesiologist, etc.) for an injection. See if you can find a specialist or a spinal/pain clinic.
