Q: systemic yeast infection ?

I have a systemic yeast infection. My doctor put me on diflucan for three months and nystatin for six. I'm also on a very strict diet. I tried to bring a few things back into my diet in the fourth month and the infection symptoms have come back. So I'm on the meds again and diet for another six months. I don't like this and my general practioner isn't much help. Does any one know what kind of doctor that would specialize in systemic yeast infections?

A doctor that specializes in systemic yeast is an infectious disease doctor. That is the type of doctor that I am currently getting treated by. I have a bad vaginal yeast infection for a long time now. What symptoms do you have that lead your doctor to the diagnosis of systemic yeast? If you have full insurance and you were given a provider book, there should be a full section of infectious disease doctors. Any other questions, let me know.

yeast infection
I'm going to see the gynocologist Monday. I called and asked if this was something he could help me with and the nurse said yes, they deal a lot with it. I have a vaginal yeast infection and thrush on my tongue. Before I started out on the meds I'm on now I was lethargic, my arms and legs hurt, I had what I thought was a sinus infection and bronchitis and depressed. I hope he can help. I'm at my wits end. Thanks for your reply. If the gyno can't help, I'll call an infectious disease doctor.

Hmm
I have the same problem. I just ordered this "Oxy Aloe Flush kit" or something like that. Its supposed to kill the overload of yeast in your body with a few weeks worth of drinking this safe "food hydrogen peroxide" liquid. Then when you're finished with the system, you're supposed to start taking acidophilius pills daily and eat yogurt. No strict diet though.

Its all very scientific, so I don't really know how to go into detail about it, but you can google it. I read pages worth of info on it, and it sounds promising. Its $180 though, which really sucks, so I hope it works. I'll try to let you know if it works after I'm done with it.

Please let me know how the Oxy aloe flush kit works for you. I really cannot afford to pay $180.00 but it might work. How long have you had this yeast problem?

A Question ...
Since November of last year, I have had three yeast infections. The first began after I had a very emotional and stressful month of October - that's what I get for being silly - and took four HPTs and after that calmed down. What was wrong was that I was feeling off ... one weekend I got a fever, nearly fainted after a very hot shower (not smart after feeling feverish) and got all worried that it meant something like pregnancy, when that obviously proved wrong. My period fluctuated back to normal, but I no longer felt normal. I went to the health center, and they discovered a pretty bad yeast infection. I took diflucan.

I went home for winter break, and went to the gyno for the first time there because I felt I still had the infection. And they did the annual test for everything, told me my prolactin level of my blood was fine, etc., not STDs, but a pretty bad yeast infection. Again. This time I got a prescribed three day suppository. It really seemed to be working.

I got back to school, and after two rounds of evil with yeast, didn't feel like it was 100% gone. I went to get it checked again at the health center, and was told there was not much yeast - the good bacteria needed to take back over. I got a seven day boric acid suppositories. Yay.

Since then, I still leave myself wondering - I don't recall the smell since before all this started. Also since last year, I have felt more bloated after eating than before - I wake up without much of a belly at all, to eating and feeling bloated afterwards, and in my opinion looking it as well.

I have taken minocycline and acne medicines in the past, and wonder if somehow my inner yeast got thrown out of whack. Sometimes I feel tired when it seems I shouldn't be - I must have gotten 6-7 hours at least last night, and after eating this morning I got so tired sitting through class by the third hour.

Has anyone been able to put any merit in the at home saliva test? I might give it a try tomorrow morning. But does this sound like systemic yeast to anyone who has had it before? Is there a way I can tell?

systemic yeast
I hate, hate, hate doctors. I went to an infectious disease doctor today for my systemic yeast infection that 4 other doctors said I had. This doctor doesn't believe in systemic yeast so he isn't doing anything for me. I'm so frustrated I don't know what to do. My gynocologist did say that the vaginal yeast is gone though so that's good I guess.

Yeast Infection Help
It sounds like all of you ladies are having very bad yeast infection outbreaks.

The reason why your having these outbreaks has to do with a fungus called candida.

Now when you take your antibiotics it kills everything good or bad in your digestive tract allowing this fungus to grow deeper roots into your body creating a systemic yeast infection. (which this is why your having recurring yeast infections)

Some good news is that you don't have to spend $180 to cure your yeast infection.

I have found some very imformative information on a website that sells a 5 step holistic method of curing yeast infections naturally without drugs and creams. This allows your body to start fighting back.

Now the key word is holistic "whole body". When you treat a yeast infection you can't treat it one dimensionally.
