Q: Symptons Normal With Quiting Smoking?

I recently quit smoking about...two weeks ago. (Give or take)
I went through the normal icky, run, down feelings but new ones have started up.
Last Monday. (The 23rd) I started to get these uncomfortable feelings in my throat/kneck area. It's tingly, and scratchy, and feels like someone is trying to choke me. I can breathe normal, and nothing is swollen, and it worries me a bit.
It's gone down significantly in the last few days though. I've also had stiffening in my kneck muscles, my chest, and my shoulders.
Is this normal with quiting smoke?
Or should I get it checked out?

get checked out. But I think it has nothing to do with quitting smoking. But we are not the same, so who knows.

choking feeling while quitting
Hey! This is absolutely what I'm going through right now and I haven't been able to figure it out! Like somebody is strangling me and I can't get a deep breath. I have been quitting smoking for the past 3 months, and every week or so when I'm the furthest from having a cigarette I get these feelings. I also get a racing pulse, fatigue, and almost an asthma like sensation. I hear it goes away eventually.

Yes, they are side effects from the nicotine withdrawal. I quit 25 years ago, and within a month, I had the throat thing. It is anxiety based, and will go away sooner or later. It's a real pain, but just try to take deep breaths and relax when it hits. That, and maybe some muscle relaxant meds is about all you can do till it goes away. Congrats on quitting! Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the response, I am a runner who has smoked 20 years and I quit to do kickboxing, but since I have quit I have had tons of problems with racing pulse, fatigue, chest pains, irritability, and even a reduced cardio-vascular ability. I have finally come to the conclusion that these are mostly due to the nicotine withdrawals and it ha been really difficult because I feel I should see a dramatic increase in my ability to exercise, instead of the paradoxical reaction of losing my wind easily like I do now, along with the breathing difficulties.
