Q: Symptoms of pregnancy and hormonal imbalances
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 5th, 2009
hi. ok so i think im pregnant. i have been nauseated every day for over two weeks, and now its starting to be alot more in the mornings. i have had serious migraines for about a week, all day every day and thats unusual for me because i NEVER have headaches or migraines. I have been bloated in my lower stomach for over two weeks, and i have recently had weird sensations there also that feel like bubbles. Also, my stomach feels heavier in the lower middle part. my period was lighter and later this month than usual and i was just wondering if i could be pregnant? all my test are negative but i may have tested to early. if im not pregnant than i think something is wrong with me. what is ur view about it?

The symptoms you reported (nausea, headache, feeling bloated) are considered as possible, but not certain symptoms for pregnancy. The reason for this is that these symptoms can be found in the pregnancy, because of the hormonal changes that are related to the start of the pregnancy.

However, hormonal changes which are similar enough to cause the same symptoms might be found in other conditions, which are actually considered pathological. The lighter period and the longer lasting menstrual cycle are more likely related to other conditions than pregnancy.

However, this cannot be either confirmed or ruled out without a physical examination, hormonal laboratory tests, and an ultrasound scan from your gynecologist whom you are advised to visit.
