Penile cancer usually starts as a lump or ulcer on the penis that does not heal for more than 4 weeks. The lump is painless and does not itch. In some cases a wart like growth or a reddish rash can appear. The softness of the tissue that is examined might be slightly decreased, but not necessarily.
