Q: symptoms of HIV ?

i had unprotected sex with my frnd,[ who s tested for HIV in jan 2008, with negative result] on apr 3, 2008, on may 24, 2008, i had foreplay with another frnd, we had no sexual intercourse. she had also tested for HIV in nov, 2008, came negative

i got tested for HIV on jun 18, 2008, it came out with negative result.

on june 23rd i had a cold nd rashes in my armpit, nd a small sore on my penis, it was cured wen the doctor gave me some ointments, i asked the doctor if the armpit growth is an enlarged lymph node, he said no, nd for the penis sore, he said it s cuz for the penadol tablet i took for the cold, there was no fever. abt armpit growth, he said it is cuz of the climate change, it s very hot here.

also i have white coating on my tang, it has been there for more 2 years now, am using a scraper nw, which takes it of

now i have joint pain[not so painful, same like old pain], nd mouth sores, not painful, i saw the doctor yesterday, he said it s a minor Apthous ulcer, nd gave me one ointment & some vitamin tablets. i am using them now, also told me these mouth sore came from alcohol i took the day before, i had mouth sore n 2 places n my mouth, one after other, one s already cured without taking any medicines.

i am using pansoral ointment for mouth apthous ulcer, nd vitamin bcomplex tablets from yesterday. nothing else.

i want to know if i am affected with HIV ?
wen i can test now for HIV?
i have decided to test for HIV infection on 14th July, 2008, will it confirm my HIV status?
after unprotected sex exposure, wats the exact time frame to test for HIV, for a confirmed result. ?
Now my son [7 months old] have a infection on his neck, looks like mumps, does it have any relation to my HIV status ? [i have partial unprotected sex with my wife once in June, 2008]

i want to know if i am affected with HIV ? -The only way to know for sure is to get tested.

wen i can test now for HIV? -You can get tested at anytime but keep in mind that its recommended that you get tested 3 months and then again at 6 months after your last possible exposure.

@homerx - i have tested once after the exposure, whihch came wid negative result. bt that was 12 days before the 3 month wait.

i will now go for tests n august nd october for the confirmed results.

nd in no way i ll ever engage n unprotected sex. tiphat

Its a hard lesson to learn but you sound intelligent.I am sure your fine but even if you do not have HIV please please please always protect yourself. my room A/c not workin properly, i was sweatin whole night, nd all other inmates, i was dehydration & some red colour change on ma arms, nor really rash on left hand, was not there n the morning, the whole morning i was upset, was checkin my arm, bt it was alright threre, evening i called the gul i had sex, she was shoutin at me, wen i asked few stupid questions, she said she s a lesbo, nd nvr have sex with a boy, i was the first, nd she told me, that ll nvr happen hw ever i try more, i said nope, am juss clearin ma doubts. after that call i was fine, had a nice dine nd sleep.

i have joint pain in ma knees

I am not feelin good n the morning, A/c not yet repaired, oral thrush s causin me vomitin sensation, again worry, checked my toungue many times, i have sinus, nd today it s at peak. worry worry worry

joint pain s not so severe

for the 2nd test n after exposure [03 April 08] i have 18 more days to go.

I cant wait.

I have itching on ma back, a red colour n the lower neck, near the collor bone, i tried to vomit, cuz the sore throat s so irritating.

i have decided, if i have HIV, i ll not spread, it ll end wid me, God help ma family

oral thrust s disturbing me, i can see a small extra growth below my chin, throat area, is that a lymphnode ?

i nvr experianced so much trouble wid ma sore throat before

one of my frnd told me i have OCD, am worried so much, so am assumin evrithin as a symptom, i dunt knw, all i want is to bring august mid as fast as i can, nd no more assumed symptoms.

hey

sounds to me like your freaking out. I went through the same thing 5 months ago, some days, even now, I still freak out wondering if I do have HIV. But I still got a month to go before my 6 month point. I'm not sure if you have OCD however worrying and stressing your body out can cause many symptoms and also weaken your immune system. About your red arm, it could simply be from sweating since your A/C wasn't working. Oral thrush is also something that has to be diagnosed by a doctor and if you do have it, chances are you got it from smoking since most smokers have a white layer over their tongues. My best advise is to try in not worry so much, keep busy and try to keep this off your mind because worrying about it just doesn't help. Also don't forget to get tested, it is your life so please make sure you do get tested. Good luck with everything and if you have anymore question or you just want to talk don't be afraid to write.

i got tested again on 15th aug 08, nd got a -ve result, antibody test. that is 19 weeks after feared infection, i ll test again n dec 08 to cofirm again. thank you all.

so my test result after 4 months of unprotected sex is -ve.

does pimples on the face is a symptom of hiv infection, juss a curious question.

which test after 6 months of possible infection will give me a confirmed result ?

antibody tests are accurate, ny other tests available in hospitals ? please let me knw. Smile

After 6 months the antibody test will give you a confirmed result. Other tests maybe available like the P24 antigen test or a PCR RNA test. These tests aren't as widely available but you can ask if they do have them where you go to.
