Q: symptoms of early pregnancy ?

For two weeks now, I have been experiencing some pregnancy symptoms. These started approx. 9 days after I last had unprotected sex. I have been feeling nauseous, have had headaches, getting dizzy, have had mild cramping in my lower abdomen and also my lower back and have experienced some spasms in my lower abdomen also. My breasts have been hurting, my gums have been bleeding when I brush my teeth, I have had a constant feeling of dehydration, and I have been extremely tired lately.

I have felt like I actually knew I was pregnant…however I started my period 4 days earlier than I was even supposed to. I took a home pregnancy test this morning and it came back negative. I really want a baby and am holding my breath and going crazy.

Is there anyone that can give me advice on what to do or what these symptoms might mean?

Having your period is a pretty big indictation that you're not pregnant. Sad

The other symptoms are experienced with pregnancy... but usually not until a few weeks after a missed period. Your hormone levels wouldn't be high enough at only 9 days to produce so many different symptoms. Because those symptoms are also caused by other factors, they're not reliable by themselves for predicting a pregnancy.

As for the symptoms themselves, quite a few of them are common for PMS and menstruation - namely the cramping, tiredness, tender breasts and dehydration. The bleeding gums could be from slight swelling due to the weather becoming colder, or maybe you brushed a bit harder than normal. Obviously I don't know the exact reason for your symptoms, but these are just a few ideas as to what they might be caused by.

I'm sorry it hasn't happened for you this month Sad hopefully it will happen soon! Good luck.

Symptoms could be from pseudopregnancy, which isn't pregnancy. It could also be caused by stress.
