Q: Symptoms of compressed brain stem ?

After months of mountain biking in the summer/fall of 2007, I became a little more fatigued than usual. A hospital visit showed nothing wrong with blood, X-rays, etc. I then developed headaches after the visit for two weeks, while a CT scan showed normal function. I then took a friend's suggestion and had my first ever chiropractic adjustment (along with "muscular electrode stimulation"). Within four hours, I experienced sudden fever (101-103 F), accelerated heartrate (120-180 bpm), and intense headaches. Blood work, CT scan, spinal tap, and stress tests all came back normal.

The symptoms eventually dissipated in a week, leading to currently feeling warm in my hands, feet, and eyes, esp. after heavy lifting. A set of cervical chirporactic adjustments (nine) led to alleviation of the warmth, but accidental heavy lifting (40 lbs) caused the warmth symptoms to return. Sometimes the warmth makes me feel like I'm 3-5 degrees warmer than normal, but my body temp is actually 97.5-98.0 F. This entire timeframe of warm feelings has been going on since January 2008.

I have no clue what this could be. The cervical chiropractor said it was a compressed brain stem. The fact that his adjustments gave me some temporary relief makes that sound somewhat reasonable.

Although the fever/heart rate issues are gone, I wonder if the current warmth in extremities is related at all. Diagnosis of either situation (esp. the current situation) would be helpful.

Any ideas? Thanks!
