The feeling of a clogged ear and the drainage from the ear might be related to an ear infection and subsequent inflammation. It is likely that this infection was eased by the ruptured ear drum which would have stopped the bacteria from entering the middle ear if the drum was not ruptured.

The feeling of hearing your breath and swallowing might be due to the fluids in the middle ear that change the perception of sounds. Those sounds should be like when you hear through water or thin, but solid material. The excess of fluids is most likely produced by the middle ear mucosa due to the inflammation.

Visiting an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist is highly recommended. He might prescribe you antibiotics to kill the bacteria and anti-inflammatory medication to ease the inflammation. Anti-inflammatory drops should not be used if the ear drum is ruptured. The doctor might also suggest procedures for treating the ear drum, too.
