Q: Symptoms of a vulvo-vaginal infection
asked by: DoctorQuestion on July 31st, 2008
I have been having problems with itching around the hairline, it doesn't happen all the time and it started about 1 month back, I have a light brown discharge, non smelling but I am self concious because it gets irritated because I sometimes scratch. I try to keep my hair low because that seems to help, but is there something wrong or a reason this irritation and itching occurs often. And i am also prone to pain in that region when something comes in contact with that region. Kindly respond

Sexual Health - Women Answer A4517
Current medical status: Itching in Pubic hair, pain and light brown discharges, discomfort
Current medical treatment: none

Brown discharge and pain from the vagina and itching in the pubic region could be related and both due to a vulvo-vaginal infection.

You may want to consult a gynecologist about your problem.
