Symptom of lump in right armpit

I started getting a lump in my right armpit about 3 years ago. I had a physician look at it and they told me unless there was puss coming out, it was nothing to be concerned about. I have since acquired more lumps under my right armpit and some under my left. It feels like I\'m holding something under my arm and carrying it. There is sharp pain and discomfort (like bruised feeling). My fingers, mostly pinky and ring fingers go numb quite often as well. What should I do? Do I keep on pressing doctors?
