A few days ago my clit started to itch and then when i was having a shower i discovered that it had swollen to twice its normal size, there is also a white distarge coming out. I am starting to get worried and think i should go see a doctor, i think it is a yeast infection, but am to shy to go, is there something i can use to help it go away without seeing a doctor? I live at boarding school and am only 16, so i can't really get my parents advice. Plaese help any info would be great.

Hi, and thanks for your medical question on eHealth forum!

It is difficult to diagnose on net. It could be a bacterial or a fungal infection. Many treatment options are there for fungal infection like Clotrimazole 1%, Miconazole nitrate 2%, Tolnaftate 1%, ketoconazole, terfibnafine and Butenafine hydrochloride 1%. Many OTC products containing these salts are available, your pharmacist can help. Try a combination of two and apply until swelling and itch disappears. Also similar antibacterial creams are available for bacterial infection.

I would sincerely advice you to consult a doctor and not self medicate as it may cause more harm than good. Since a confirmed diagnosis cannot be given on net please consult your gynecologist regarding this. Hope this helps. Take care!
