swollen lymph nodes self caused?

i started feeling and poking at the nodes in my neck about 2 weeks ago and now they are swollen.at first they were the about the size of peas and now they are about twice the size they were.they are pain free, and they are not tender to the touch.

is it possible to cause swelling by hand irritation?i have no symptoms of any kind(sore throat/cough etc.)im going crazy and cant keep my self from pokin and feeling them.

In most cases, enlarged lymph nodes arise as a response to infection or/and inflammation in the body. However, in a minority of cases, enlarged lymph nodes can be a sign of lymphoma (a type of cancer that involves the lymph nodes), or a sign of cancer that has spread to the lymph nodes from some other area of the body.

I would suggest that you have your physician evaluate you further.
