hi there im am 17 years old, and recently i felt a lump in my cheek, i went to the doctor and had an operation, he said it was just a swollen node nothing to worry about.
also i hav aboue 4-5 lymph nodes in my left and right groin somewhat symetrical on both sides, they have been there fore a long long time, about 5 years, and as they are similar on both sides i felt they were normal to me. just wondered if anyone new what it could be, also i am very skinny around the groin area, could this make my nodes easier to feel?.
i have no other symptoms, feel fine, just curious.

thankyou

It is not possible to provide as specific diagnosis to patients over the Internet, and so I will offer some general observations:

In most cases, lymphoma (a cancer of the lymph nodes) will continue to progress, and affected lymph nodes will continue to enlarge, if left untreated. If your lymph nodes have not changed in 5 years, it is highly unlikely that you have lymphoma. On the other hand, if any of your lymph nodes appear to be enlarging, then biopsy may need to be considered if there is no evidence of infection or inflammation in that area of the body.
