Hello. I hope someone can help me as I'm scared. For the past 3 years I have had numerous swollen lymph nodes. I've had CT scans and blood work done numerous times, had my thyroid tested, etc and everything for the most part has come back normal. When they found the swollen lymph nodes they also discovered during an ultra sound that my spleen is enlarged but no explanation for it. Lately I feel extremely worn out, tired for no reason. I keep getting a very swollen lymph node under my jaw line on the left side and last night discovered a lump on the surface of my right rib cage. I've had numerous ear infections since Feb 08 and the doctors have said these various lumps/bumps could be from an old ear infections. But could that explain why I feel so listless? Can anyone tell me if my symptoms sound like something more serious that I can present to my physician because all they've wanted to do since Feb is pump me full of antibiotics but the nodes remain swollen. I am also very sore/tender on my left side (hips, arm, etc)....if anything barely even pushes on my muscles it is painful. I'm only 32 and a mother of 3 and want to be around for my children and husband. What should I do? Thank you sooo much to anyone who can help me.

Are any of your joints swollen/painful? Do you have any strangely occurring bruising? If you cry, are there tears?

I'm thinking this might be a rheumatic problem...
If you switch physicians maybe a different one will be able to diagnose something that is not an infectious explanation. Or you can try a specialist doctor, but remember that they would focus on their specialty (ie an oncologist would say cancer, an immunologist would say infection).

Don't stress too much.

Hi- thanks so much for the reply. No my joints aren't swollen but I do get achey frequently (mainly in my hips/lower back). No bruising really and my tears are normal when I cry. I forgot to mention I had a c-section with my son almost 6 years ago and my skin had an allergic reaction to the staples....not sure if anything could have developed from that. I hadn't thought of anything rheumatory, thanks for the suggestion, I appreciate it.

Pain under ribs and painful lymp nodes
Anyone? I have had a lot of pain under my left rib cage. I can only lay on my back or the pain is too much. My lymp nodes down both sides of my body hurt and ache. Another reason I have to lay on my back instead of my side to sleep. I don't have much of an appetite and am very tired all the time. This is just not me. Please respond.

Spleen pain
Hi. I suggest you have it checked out, and possibly have a CT scan. It doesn't sound right that you have loss of appetite in addition to the pain of the spleen and painful lymph nodes... please have the test done...
