my girlfriend and i were having sex and the next day she called me and said she was really sore and her lymph nodes were swollen and i was just wondering if sex had anything to do with that and if you knew of any kind of treatment to relieve some of her pain..

Lymph nodes are located all around the body and are part of your immune system. I believe your girlfriend is either mistaken in the naming of the origin of the pain, or her body can be simply fighting off an infection. The closest lymph node to the vagina is called the ingunial node, and its in the inner leg. Rough sex can cause pain, but not in your lymph node.

syphilis?
swollen glands can indicate syphilis.
I had it. After 2-3 days, groan lymph nodes swelled and lightly hurt. It was obvious, it wasn't normal - normally you don't even know you have glands...if they are a bit tender...don't wait to test for syphilis.
