Kind of have similar to the above. Issues - half way through root canal with an abscess at the base which has gone down substantially via full course of antibiotics. During this time I backed off on coffee which will be the reason for the nasty friggen headache. Back on coffee now (just one or two cups / day nothing too heavy)and headache subsided. Also started back too early on lifting weights and this explains my exhaustion - also think antibiotics ain't healthy unless you have to take them which I highly recommend (under dentist/ doctor prescription of course). I have also been readind up on thyroid (under and over active) and how this can cause fatigue and keen to have some blood tests or whatever to see how mine is performing compared to the average person. I should eat more fish/ sushi wraps (seaweed) which are a good sources of Iodine. Carrying a bit extra chin fat but mainly cause I'm on the computer too much. Likewise, need more sunlight / vitamin D as esp during winter I'm either in the office or computer or TV = which can't be healthy. Will make a concerted effort to walk on the beach between 8&10am or 2&4pm so as not to get cooked. Anyway to add to the above, errr things are a bit 'soft' in the backdoor department but that could be the dodgy kebab after the footy game at the stadium on Sat (Football Stadium = container of germs and diseases) - hope this helps, but I really believe it's my serious dental issues that are screwing my body around. p.s. I don't eat junk food or drink soft drink, even the diet stuff is uber evil. Filtered Water, coffee(small amounts) and green tea (decaf at night) are the go...and I quit smoking years ago as more than likely you will die early compared to the one in a million that bum-puffed to the age of 100. As for 'oil pulling', I think this would be just as effective as good oral hygiene/ mouthwash before flossing and again after cleaning teeth with quality electric tooth brush. Posture - something else I have to work and apparently is the main cause of TMJ which I think may contribute towards fatigure. Ibuprofen/ Nerofen seems to work the best for headaches but panadol is slower but apparently better for the stomach. Hope this helps.
I've suffered with this for several months now. I switched dr's and the new dr suggested that it sounds like Eustacion Tube disorder caused by allergies. When I looked it up on the web, I couldn't find much about the swollen glands along with it, buy my new dr (who is very good!) said that it definitely can cause the swollen lymph glands right along with it.Yesterday it started getting really bad and my husband looked up the pollen count - it was 11.2 on a scale from 1-12. I think this dr may be on to something! Good luck to all of you!

While growing up I had similar pains in my sinuses, my nodes were very swollen. The one thing I HIGHLY recommend is seeing a Chiropractor. I know the general knowledge of them seems to not exactly tie in with sinuses, but I am telling you, it is your best bet to recovery.
Had the same symptoms Janice23. The only explanation from my problem was due brushing my teeth. Yes, I irritated the gums, smoked and 3 hours later, during the night, pain. All I can do is take over-the-counter pain-reliever and something cold to compress the swelling. Sometimes, I just need that and not the pain-reliever. After the pain is gone, a bit of swelling looks present but goes away.
I noticed that not many people post outcomes on here, so i will share mine and hope it helps.
I started about 2 months ago with a swollen feeling on the right side of my throat quickly affecting my right ear. 1 month ago my dad (56) and a smoker was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, he went to the hospital with a heavy feeling in his arms and legs, I also smoke and last week started having a heavy/dead feeling in my right arm and convinced myself that i had throat cancer, I went straight to the doctors and they took some blood tests, I have had a call from my doctor today, I have an underactive thyroid which thankfully isn't life threatening and easily treatable, I hope this helps and would suggest that you bite the bullet and see your doctor straight away .... it could be something completely different to what your building up in your mind, also my doctor did say that lack of sleep (through worry) and stress can give you unusal symtoms and you can make yourself ill with it. Good luck to anyone who is worried and please please please see your doctor asap.
HI to all of you, I have to share mine also..which has pricking bothering (depressing) me this past 2 weeks.
I have a lymph node on both side of my jaw line which is about 2cm or less and they are movable and tender.
Before this lymph nodes came out at about a week ago, I'm already suffering from a sinus (left nose) allergy which causes me to sneeze from dust or some food I intake.
Then when it congests, I feel earache (left) and some static ringing sound which they call 'tinnitus'.
I also feel popping sound on my nose (left) and cracking sound on my ear when I swallow.
Then came my left tonsil is kinda' swollen. From then, I visited a GP which gave me antibiotics 250mg thrice for four days but unfortunately the tonsil didn't shrink to it's original size.
Again I visited another GP for second opinion then says that my tonsil got better but needs to use a nasal spray (which I didn't bother to use anyway).
As it goes, a requested for the GP to refer me to a ENT specialist so that I can be thoroughly check with special tools or something.
these are my symptoms:
- left nasal congestion
- left ear ache and ringing sound
- bilateral lymph nodes on jaw
- no fever
- swollen left tonsil
- occasional sneezing
I went to the doctor with these same symptoms this morning. It scared me to death yesterday because I felt like I had a massive lump on the left side of my throat every time I swallowed. I have had chronic sinus trouble my entire life and I figured it was something to do with that - However, my tonsils, adenoids, and sinuses were cleared out with surgery years ago and I've never had trouble with my throat since then.
This is why I went to the doctor immediately. She told me that the throat pain, ear pain, and headaches (due to pressure) were coming from some sort of eustachian tube dysfunction. I was prescribed prednisone for a week along with nasonex. They are both supposed to reduce the swelling in the gland. I'm also supposed to take tylenol or something similar for pain as needed. Sudafed was also a recommendation.
I have been dealing with severe facial pain since Dec 2010. The ear pain is the worse. It comes and goes and feels like someone is sticking a hot poker in my ear. The facial pain usually starts after I eat. I do not have TMJ or anything else wrong with my teeth, ear, throat, nose, etc... I have been to every doc under the sun and have had many tests. I was sent to a neurologist and diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia. Don't get excited. So far none of the treatments have worked. I just noticed that the node under my right jaw is sore but not swollen. My next step is to have my doc check that node and possibly remove it. I would rather have surgery than continue in this severe pain. Anyway some of you seem to have the same symtoms as me. You might want to check Trigeminal Neuralgia as a possibality. Espieally if you have exhausted all other options. (Sorry for my spelling)
had the exact same thing. Left lymph node was badly swollen, earache in my left ear only, painful and difficult to swallow and a rise in temperature ( only happened a number of times ) and had bad breath. I went to the doctor where i was told i had severe tonsillitus and a bacterial infection. I was prescribed antibotics which i was to take for ten days, throat spray, paracetamol and nurofen. Hope this helps
Suffering in Western Australia. neck, jaw, tonsils, lymphnodes
Similar symptoms here. Initially the pain started in my left jaw and ached. Pain stopped so I thought I was safe. Pain started up again 3 days ago. Hoped it would go away but now the pain has worsened. Pain has now spread across whole left side of my face, headaches, extremely sore neck muscles, swollen tonsils and lymphnodes and feel quite fatigued. Also a little pain in my ear.
Tonight I have taken pain killers (strong ones) and pain has not let up.
I am so scared.... I will see my GP and possibly dentist. I know I probably won't get an answer straight away but I can't stand it anymore! I have had shingles, glandular fever, etc so it I wouldn't imagine it would be either of those. I PROMISE TO POST MY DIAGNOSIS ONCE I HAVE ONE!!!!!!!
As promised. I have got my diagnosis.
Doctor told me that both my ears are infected and the canals are covered in puss, there is also an infection in my throat causing the inflamed tonsils and enlarged lymphnode on the left. Apparently, the combination of these infections is putting pressure on a nerve which is causing the pains on the left side of my face and stiffness in my neck.
I still think its worth seeing a dentist so will update again once the results are in. I feel like there is more to it than meets the eye!
Sinus, head pressure, ear ache on right side only. anxiety!
Please help! I have just about all the same symptoms. I do not smoke. All my pain is on the right side. Head, alone right side of nose back of neck and back of head. Loud music is amplified and makes me feel awful. I have no appetite when this hits me. I have seen every DR. with no real answer or cure. It got so bad I went to the ERIC twice in one week. Ativan was their answer. I take it to keep me calm but does not help my head, sinuses, or ear. Going back to primary doctor on Monday. Oh I have no tonsils. Please, if anyone can help with advise. It's getting hard for me to leave the house for fear of anxiety attack due to these symptoms. Thank
I've just had the same symptoms pop up. Right side- earache, sore neck, headache in lower right side near neck, swollen glands, and sore jaw. There is a spot near the epicenter of the headache that when pressed relieves ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS. Went to the doctor yesterday. She assured me it was a viral infection. Since it is a virus, antibiotics are WORTHLESS. "Ride it out", she said. I am trying vitamin C, echinacea, and tons of water. It's gotten better. The ear has started popping, relieving some of the pressure. My sinuses have also started draining, rather than being super swollen and sore. Go the natural route with some vitamins, give your body the things it needs to kick this junk!
All the same symptoms, I am a smoker and have seen my do tor. Blood test came back good. I had a stomach ultra sound done and a ct scan. My teeth are good and I have an apointment with the eye doctor soon. My chiropractor thins its trimengler neuralgia. Just waiting for results on ct to see what it shows. I find I have extreme itchiness in my head where the swollen lymph node are. My issues are all on the left side.
I am glad this discussion is going on. Same here. Nearly 3 years ago, I had the WORST sore throat I ever had. Doctors didn't know what it was but finally went to one who said it was an ear infection that drained down my throat. Ever since then, I developed ringing in my ears, mainly the left side but it’s in the right side too. As it progressed, I saw 2 ENT's and regular doctor. After hearing tests and exams, they didn't find much wrong except that I may have mild hearing loss. Now and then, I get ear aches on the left side. The left side is the worst. I have more jaw aches there, sometimes if feels like something "rolls" hear the jaw/ear area when I inflate my cheeks, constant ringing, sometimes jaw fatigue. It does seems like my allergies are getting worse with age and today, woke up with a tender upper neck, under jaw. Took some Advil and a Singulair before perhaps going to doctor tomorrow. Yeah, I often worry about something worse but the ENT's seemed confident this wasn't an acoustic neuroma or anything bad. I just get tired of battling this off and on.
I wish someone had the answer! Same with me. Had swollen lymph nodes, h/a, ear and neck pain on and off for the last 3 yrs. been to an ENT which got no answer from him now I am at an allergist. Wish there was a dr. Who knew what he was doing. Tired of Abt all the time!
I have the exact same problem. It's only on my right side. I have pain in my ear and most often in my throat. My lymph nodes are always swollen and sore. My primary doctor thinks I have TMJ due to grinding my teeth at night. He referred me to a dentist to get fitted for a mouth guard to wear at night. I'm terrified that it's something more severe, like cancer. I have yet to go to an ENT, and am wondering if I should do that first to rule out something worse than TMJ? Has anyone else been diagnosed with TMJ?
I have the same damned thing...
I have a nasty sinus infection that resulted in drainage to my Eustachian tubes and infected lymph and salivary glands, causing the jaw/nerve pain.
Drugs: Continued Advil/ibuprofen, 40mg prednisone 2x day, Augmentin 875mg/day
Back Dec. 2011 I had to have a cavity refilled...after I had it refilled I had an achyness in my lower gums that comes & goes-almost four weeks ago I got a second opinion on the tooth that was refilled & he put a temporary filling in to see if it would "calm down" well, he also put some ointment in the filling & said that it should help-well it's a nasty taste & within a few days after he put the temperory in i started feeling a slight sore throat-by the next week my mouth was hurting worse-i went back & he temporarily filled it again & had to shoot me up three times with novacane! He then bruised my jaw & by this time my sore throat was full blown & the weirdest sore throat I've had ever-I'm 33 & if I ever get a sore throat I get a cold as well. So anyways-by the next week I went to the dr. & I was tested for strep-came back negative-she would not run blood test but instead just gave me an antibioitic "just in case" well. I took this for one week, sore throat I thought was going away, but just last friday 5/11 one of my glands got swollen, almost feels like something is stuck in the back right side of my throat-no other symptoms are going on, except still have my tooth issue. I am debating on getting the tooth pulled since it seems like everything is from this tooth, even though i was told it was just cracked & everything is a couinsidence!?? I don't think so...but it's VERY annoying. I do not want to go back to the dr., as I have to pay out of pocket & can't afford it. Anyone else have results? I will keep you posted-but this has been almost three weeks now. I feel find otherwise & is of course on the side with the tooth that is giving me a problem. I just want to get back to feeling normal & enjoying life!! There has also been on/off pain in my inner ear the past few days.
