For the past few months i have been experiencing intermittent swellings on my skin in random places on my back or my lips. I am not sure as to the cause but instinctively feel that they might be an allergy to something that touches my skin or maybe something i eat. The lip swellings are always in the morning and usually wear off by midday, but the back swellings only happen in the middle or end of the day and are usually gone by morning. Any ideas? I know i am allergic to coffee and green peppers and so i always avoid them!

I've experienced very similar symptoms where I will wake up in the morning with swollen lips, usually on one side and/or swollen eyelid. It is usually preceded by itchy patches around my body, sometimes arms, feet, hip area. Today I woke up with swollen testicles! I haven't seen a doctor but just by researching the internet it seems as though it is angioedema. Not sure yet what triggers it, I think maybe olives or olive oil. I'm hoping it is so that it solves this problem that i've had for several years now. No one seems to be able to pinpoint anything in particular or been able to confirm by a doctor so I'm kinda at a loss so far.

swellings
Hi Latino101, thanks for that. Since this post I have been told that it is hives? that seems like a really early diagnosis to me (being as it is only the third time the doctor has seen me) but I have some tests that need to be done before the Doctor will commit to the diagnosis. SWOLLEN TESTICLES. ouch. was that the actual testicles or the scrotum? surely that cannot be connected to a skin complaint if it is the actual testicles that have swollen.
I can't remember if I mentioned this in my previous post but I only went to see the doctor about my liver and just mentioned the swellings in passing. since then i have cut out a shellfish supplement (glucosamine) that i had been taking for an elbow injury, my liver has stopped hurting and now my swellings are less often and less acute. hope this helps you in some way. what country are you from? i am from England. good luck and merry christmas
