Q: swollen hands and feet months after giving birth

Hello! I gave birth almost 4 months ago. I only had mild swelling during my pregnancy and it quickly went away after a week. Yesterday, i woke up having severe pain on my knee joint and had a hard time standing up or sitting down. I took Tylenol the whole day but the pain didn't go away. This morning, I noticed that my hands and feet are swollen, much worse when I was pregnant. This never happened to me with my first 2 pregnancies. I don't know if it's normal to have the swelling back even if I had given birth almost 4 months ago. Any ideas? Will appreciate it so much. Thanks!!!

I have also had issues with swelling which are still there after almost 6 months post. It had went down after giving birth, but came back with my first period. Now it cycles with my monthly. My family doc hasn't been much help so I came here for answers. I didn't get any replies to my querries, hopefully you have more luck. And hopefully it will help to see that apparently may women have issues with water retention long after pregnancy subsides.

i have never been pregnant nor am i now, but when i take tylenol or acetaminaphin products, my hands and feet swell also (not immediately, but within the next day or two). doctors don't know what it is exactly, but diagnosed the swelling as a delayed allergic reaction... ?
