Appendix and Appendicitis Answer A10390
Hi,

Welcome to the ehealth forum and I am glad to help you out. I don’t think the oedema (swelling) of the bile duct has got anything to do with the surgery of the appendix as these are distant organs and the chances of any damage to the bile duct during the surgery is minimal due to the distance between them. For the swelling of the bile duct, you should consult a gastroenterologist as you might need further investigations like an ERCP to look for the cause of the swelling of the bile duct. In this procedure, a tube is passed into the bile duct to look for the cause of the swelling as stone could be blocking the opening of the bile duct into the intestine. The abscess of the tooth cavity also should be taken seriously and antibiotics should eb taken for the same as the abscess can extend further into the jaw bone complicating the matters.

I sincerely hope this medical information helps. Take care.
