Hello! i really need help!for about a year now i have not been feeling very well,i have a cold all the time, and for about a month i had swolen neck glands both sides, which made me feel very weak and tired all the time, with flu symptoms,i went to my doctor, who told me i had very enlarged glands, maybe suspected glandular fever?
so i had a bloodtest and it came back negative!
about 4 months later i still have the same problem, feeling tired all the time, achey, except my gland is only swolen in the left side of my neck and feels very bruised to touch, when i go out i feel extremely tired, even if it is going out for 5 minutes!my gland gets larger.
i do not smoke,or drink any alcohol,i also have a very healthy diet.so i am very intrigued as to what the problem could be!as i really want to get back to my normal happy self!
any help would be very much appreciated!
thanks Emma

I'm sorry you're feeling so lousy and I may not be a big help. However, have you been tested for mononucleosis? Just a thought when I hear you describe some of the symptoms.

It's always a relief when tests come back negative, but not so great in the sense that we don't get answers really when we need them. I'm sure what ever it is will resolve itself, we can get some weird things sometimes that are never explained. I hope your doctor can figure this out, searching for things on the net only scares the hell out of you and confuses you more, I've found that from experience. Best of luck to you, reply sometime when you know what's up.

thankyou so much for your help! every bit of support helps so much! i am feeling terrible today,as my gland is more swolen than usual and it feels very sore!my ear also feels blocked, but i guess this may be because my gland is enlarged from the back of my ear and down my neck?
i definately will suggest this to the doctors! as it was at first thought to be glandular fever, but i had a bloodtest and it came back negative?do you think this colud be because you may have to catch it at the right time to diagnose it?
i sure will let you know how it all goes! i just hope it does soon! ive been inside on off for a year now!
thankyou very much and you take care too!

Emma,

The first thing that came to my mind when you said your blood test was negative and your glands have been swollen for so long was allergies. Have you considered that it may be allergies? You might want to get tested for allergies. I've seen people suffer with all sorts of symptoms that turned out to be allergies.

emmaround1 - You sound to have the same issues as me. It's been about a year now since I've had an enlarged node on the right side of my neck, below jaw. Just in the past couple months it has become painful along with earaches. My ent put me on an antibiotic and says if it doesn't go down on it's own within a month, he may do a biopsy. Just the word "biopsy" scares the crap out of me. If anyone has any words of comfort, advice, anything - I'd appreciate it. I'm 29yrs. old, the mother of two young girls and It's emotionally draining wondering what this could be Sad
