Switching to new brand of birth control

Hi,
I've been taking loestrin 24 fe for about 5 months and this month my doctor told me to try YAZ birth control because of my break through bleeding problem on Loestrin. I ended my pack of loestrin and started YAZ the next day after my inactive pills were finished. I had sex with my boyfriend after the second pill of the new YAZ pack. Am i still protected against pregnancy even though im starting a different brand of birth control? Any input would be helpful=)
