Switching from triphasic to monophasic BC ?

I've been taking Velivet, a generic brand of Cyclessa, which is a triphasic desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol pill. Out of necessity, I need to switch brands and the closest is a monophasic version which has the same ingredients. The dose, however, of the monophasic brand is higher than the highest dose of the triphasic version. Is it safe to switch to this other BC? If so, should I expect any new side effects?
