Hello. I have been on ortho tri cylcen lo for 4 to 5 years and have absolutely no issues with it. However, I just started a new job and with my new insurance it is now outrageously expensive. I want to switch to something very very comparable (since there is no generic ortho lo). Anyone have a similar situation and can suggest a good pill that affected them in the same was as ortho lo? My doctor has not been overly helpful. HELP!! Thanks!

I usually get my ortho lo from planned parent hood because it is $97 a pack. For some reason my ins will not cover any of it. and the pharm told me there s no generic. i tried the new generess, but took myslef off of it after 2 weeks. I did not like it. so Im ack to trying to get into planned parent hood becuase im afraid to take anything else since ortho lo gave me no problems.

I, too, went through this. I loved Ortho Tri Cyclen lo, but the copay was just too much per month. So I asked them what the best alternative be/c NO...there is no generic form. I'm currently using Mononessa. It's ok, but it's no Ortho tri cyclen lo.

Reconsider before switching to reg. dosage Orthro
The same thing happened to me, my insurance quit covering Ortho Tri Cyclen lo, so I switched to the regular Orth Tri Cyclen generic. I've been on it for 4 months now and am about to switch back to Lo, in spite of the higher cost!

My mood swings have been horrible, I have been crying or becoming irate over nothing. I've found myself to have really fallen into a depression. My sex drive did increase, but I'm so moody and pissed off all the time, I don't want to take advantage of it.
